| Quite simply, our
approach is unique and it’s better. |
| |
You know you have a
variety of resources to choose from to get advice on how to navigate
the college planning process. You and your child can work with
professionals like guidance counselors and
investment advisors, and you can also find boatloads of information (or
misinformation) from the
Internet and your friends. |
| |
What’s important is
getting your child to the college that’s right for him or her without
breaking your budget. You’ll need to carefully consider how
well the resources you choose will help you meet these goals.
Ask yourself the following questions about the advisors you’re
considering, and see how we compare: |
| |
| Services They Provide |
| |
- How broad is their
scope of services?
- Can they advise you
about the in’s and out’s of getting financial aid just as well as they
can about completing an outstanding college application?
- Does their plan for
your family include more than just an investment product?
- How much research on
this topic do you personally want to do?
|
|
Waterfront
College Planning’s proprietary program covers the whole gamut of what
you will need to prepare for college. It includes career
planning, SAT and ACT preparation, help with college application essay
questions, a search for the schools that will best work with your
family to provide aid, completing financial aid forms, and helping your
child increase their attractiveness to the schools he or she applies to.
|
|
| |
| |
| Their Expertise |
| |
- Do your advisors have
specialized expertise in the whole field of college planning?
- or can they offer just
general solutions to your family’s needs?
- What search terms will
you use to “Google” the Internet for answers – “college help”,
“financial aid”?

We
are members of the National Institute of Certified College Planners
(NICCP) and the NCAG (National College Advocacy Group). Both
organizations are recognized for the professional caliber of their
members and their continuing education programs. The Certified
College Planning Specialist credential focuses just on the specialized
niche of college planning. We also stay in touch with several blogs and
news sources specifically targeting college admissions and financing
issues, to stay up-to-the-minute with any changes in this dynamic
market.

| Keeping You On Track |
| |
- Will your advisors keep
your student and your family on track to complete everything you need
to do on time?
- Or will that
responsibility fall to you?
- How often will they
check in with you to see the progress you’re making?
- How about over the
summer?
|
|
When
you enroll in our program, we will send you emails each month that will
contain that month’s steps for you to complete on your way to
college. We follow up the same month with a webinar to answer
any questions you might have about that month’s activities, as well as
additional phone calls or emails that month to check up on your
progress. And yes, we’re even in touch with you during the
summer months.
|
|
| |
| |
| Making Time For You |
| |
- How much time will your
advisers spend with you when you meet?
- How much time will they
spend working for you when you’re not meeting?
|
|
At
Waterfront College Planning, the monthly emails, webinars and phone
calls are not all. There will be many items on our “to-do”
list as well, such as searching for the right schools for your child
and creating a financial aid plan for you. At the same time
that you will be doing your part of our system’s action steps, we will
be doing our part, with everything coordinated to make sure that all of
the objectives of having your child fully prepared for college will be
met on time.
